ABOUT ME

I have spent my professional career working with thousands of clients aged 3-85 at all recreational and competitive levels to help in their pursuit of health & fitness endeavours, across 3 main realms:

As a physiotherapist, I assess help manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions using evidence-based principles of rehabilitation. I spend my time working with individuals in-clinic as well as during sporting events (i.e. accompanying athletes to training and competitions). I have a vested interest in orthopedics & sports medicine, including concussion rehabilitation.

As a strength & conditioning coach, I work with clients looking to achieve performance-based goals that require attention to strength, aerobic capacity, coordination, and mobility. My aim is to determine and strengthen any weak links in the chain, whether you are a seasoned athlete or a complete beginner to health & fitness.

As an educator, I address change at a higher level – By working with organizations to ensure their coaches have adequate communication and observation skills, so their athletes can focus on moving well and performing even better.

BIO

I have been working with clients in all types of health environments over the last 13 years.

I began my career at the age of 14, when I was asked to start coaching recreational gymnastics at Airborne Trampoline, where I was training. At the same time, I took my first exercise science class, and was hooked. The class sparked an immediate fascination with human anatomy and physiology, analysing human movement, and learning how to facilitate the achievement of performance-based goals.

To feed my appetite for knowledge around human performance, I pursued a kinesiology undergraduate degree at Queen’s University. I furthered my coaching career as a student varsity strength & conditioning coach, a competitive coach with the Kingston Aeros Trampoline Club, and as a gymnastics/strength/CrossFit coach at Queen Street Fitness. This widened my scope of practice by furthering my understanding of the malleability necessary in a coach to change the approach based on the varying goals and levels of the individuals I was working with.

In efforts to widen my scope of practice, I pursued a physiotherapy graduate degree at McMaster University, and now practice in Dundas & Oakville (Ontario) in the areas of orthopedics and sports medicine with gen-pop, high-performance athletes, and weekend warriors of all kinds. I have additional training in concussion management and as an emergency first responder, providing sporting event coverage at local to international levels.

Doing my best to practice what I preach, I am an active competitive athlete, having trained in Olympic weightlifting since 2010 and winning multiple national medals and provincial records following a successful Jr. career. I presently train with the Burlington Barbell Club in efforts to achieve my ultimate goal of earning a spot on the Canadian National Weightlifting Team.
